_ Ruby Kaigi 2006 (日本 Ruby カンファレンス 2006) 1 日目 
北海道から前日最終便の飛行機で上京して参戦。 詳しいレポートなどは誰かがあげてくれると思うので、 印象に残ったところとか個人的な感想のみをメモ。
まつもとゆきひろさん−State Of the Dominion
まつもとさん自身のプレゼンはあっという間に終わったけど、 その後は 50 分ぐらい会場からの質問大会になった。結構時間持つものだな。 というか、その辺を読んで、こういう時間配分にしたのだと したらすごい読みだな。これはこれで非常に面白かった。
最後にまつもとさんが会場に「仕事で Ruby 使っている人〜？」 って聞いたら、半数ぐらい手をあげた。
仕事で使っているってどういう意味だろ？ ちょっとしたテストツールとか日々のルーチンワークの自動化とか あとアプリケーション(影舞、Hiki)を通じて使ってるはいるけど、 お客さんに納めるものにはRuby は全く使ってないな、私は。 ってことで、手はあげなかったんですけど。
田中哲さん−使いやすいAPIデザイン
最初に何をやりたかったのかメモっておくべし。 規格書を読んでいるうちに規格の考え方に飲まれてしまって、 最初にやりたかったことを忘れてしまい、規格書の考え方 丸出しの使いにくい API を生み出してしまう。
これ、重要。
なひさん−セキュアアプリケーションプログラミング
公開鍵暗号のいっちばん基本的な仕組みは知っていたが、 実際にこれを使ってアプリを組むにはいろいろと考えるべきことが ある、というのを順を追ってわかりやすく説明してくれた。
すげー勉強になった。
ごとけんさん−仕事で使うRuby
私も会社で影舞とHikiを使っているので非常に共感する部分や 参考になる部分が多かった。
「ルックス重要」ってのには非常に共感。
あと、一般人を対象にした場合、 「メッセージが英語だと読んでもらえない」とか 「ベーシック認証の画面がでてきただけで先に進んでもらえない」 ってのは確かにそうだよなぁ、と気づかされた。

期せずして、WO 使いの人にいっぱい会えてびっくり(^^; みなさま、いろいろおしゃべりしてくれてありがとうございました。 大変楽しかったです。今後ともどうぞよろしくお願いいたします _o_
あと、 yugui さんとおしゃべりさせていただいて、 「東京(正確には東京じゃないけど)には魔物 *1が住んでいる、、、」と思った。 世の中にはすごい人がいるもんだ、、、俺もがんばろ、、、
他にもおしゃべりしたい人がいっぱいいたんですが、 タイミングがあわなくて接触できず。残念。
食べ物と飲み物はちょっと少なすぎな気がした。 ホテルに戻ってから、結局コンビニ弁当食べちゃったよ。
